Last night we had the most amazing experience at Kinfolk, located at Moonshine right off Red River. The drinks and mixology creations were surreal, but the quant, intimate, dark vibes were truly the icing on the cake. This beautiful, unique spot was created with a passion for fine cocktails and spirits to renew the historic cellar built in the 1850s! 2 Austin restaurateurs and their Director of Operations created this 20-seat bar to feel like an extension of their homes.

THE SPACE

Intimate and homey are the name of the game at Kinfolk! The space is rather small with only 20 seats total, but the vibes pack a mean punch! The moodiness of the dark lighting, the comfy leather chairs, and spirit displays set this place apart and give you that historic cellar feel they were trying to emulate. Four small tables for 2 greet you right as you walk in with larger groups gathering in the cellar room.

THE COCKTAILS

The cocktail list is nothing short of amazing, featuring whiskey, scotch, mezcal, tequila and more! The flavors are unbelievable and if you have any questions about what you are in the mood for, the service is phenomenal and they will lead you in the right direction. The menu is broken up into categories from fancy to fizzes! We started off with the First Time Caller, tequila + grapefruit with bitter zests and the San Miguel, rum + cacao. Strong and smooth flavors all around. If you are wanting a gorgeous presentation, the Whiskey Sour and El Diablo are your winner!
