EMBER KITCHEN
Located at 800 West Cesar Chavez Street, within the Seaholm Power Plant development! Executive chef María Mercedes Grubb, a renowned Puerto Rican chef from San Juan, is making her Texas debut. She grew up cooking with her Dominican parents and grandmother, then she moved to New York to study at the French Culinary Institute and has lots of fine dining experience.
THE SPACE
This gorgeous downtown restaurant includes three distinct areas, with the ground-floor Ember, the underground bar named Subterra and the unnamed rooftop bar which will open later on! The space melds industrial with soft pops of color, greenery and bright murals! We personally love the pink booth seating and hanging plants!
THE MENU
A live-fire menu with odes to Puerto Rican, Dominican, and Caribbean cuisines. The dishes include lots of meats, seafoods + vegetables all paired perfectly with sauces and garnishes that will take your breath away! The appetizers are a must including the caviar with plantain slices, oysters, a notable Caesar salad + polenta! And with a fire menu, you must have fire cocktails…many infused with agave spirits, fresh fruit and a little bit of spice!
